Are there any people who had success with 1.24 bios ? Should I downgrade to another bios version ?

Thanks,

This problem with Intel ME firmware is unrelated to BIOS version.

I know, I juste was wondering if the bios version, or bios options can help the proposed solution to get working

It looks like the BIOS Flash is just understand the bottom and it is easy to reach. Can I just use an SPI Flash programmer to read out the BIOS then replace the ME region and write it back. I am an enginner, I have the capability to do this. Don't want to wait any longer.

I didn't get the chance to send you the diagnostics, but something interesting happend just now. So I used Lenovo Vantage to install 2 updates earlier today, one is BIOS 1.25, the other Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.17.17. After that I check BIOS settings, instead of blank, the Intel ME version says version 1310 somehow... Then I used the patch you posted in this discussion and now I have ME 1314. It might give you some thoughts on where the problem might be from this.

And for the friends who have the same problem, you might give it a shot!

Hi,

Thank you. But it’s not working for me.

It seems that only replaced motherboard can’t get success with the proposed solution.

had you get a motherboard replacement in the past for an other problem?

Does your P52 still had 40 seconds black screen before getting the “press enter” bios  prompt  ?

Regards,

Thank you someotherguy !! I have had this issue for months before being sent to this thread. The proposed solution worked and now I am back to single booting instead of triplebooting! :D

My P1 has the same problem, the wifi is not working, sometime it works again after about 3-4 days.

I have dual boot Windows 10 Pro (latest) and Ubuntu 18.04.2 (version 16.04 also got the problem). I did many solutions found on the internet (disable/enable the driver in device manager, reinstall the driver, update the latest driver from Intel, reset the bios setting to default,...), but it still not works.

My chipset is 8750H, Bios version 1.21, Intel ME firmware version 12.0.24.1314. Yesterday i update the ME firmware to version 12.0.35.1427, after reboot 2-3 times it worked, but it got the problem again after i turn off/reboot again.

Please help me check and fix this problem.

Adding my name to the list of unhappy customers.  X1 Extreme, 2 weeks old, getting an RMA but I'd rather not use it.  Solution on page 7 does not work, ME Firmware Version still blank.

I started this thread before finding this one

Re: P52 4K, reboot three times forever, after Update Intel ME 12.0 Firmware. Via Lenovo Vantage

A few months ago I updated the ME firmware only to get the blank version in BIOS and 30 seconds boot delay. I ended up with a replaced motherboard to fix the issue. I was afraid to update BIOS and everything else again so I did not touch it since then. Today I was presented with a message that the updates are ready to install and I should close all my work so the PC can restart multiple times. The updates included new BIOS, ME Firmware and SSD firmware. Guess what. After three reboots, everything went well, no error messages at all. After ME firmware update, second one in the row, I noticed the reboot takes a while, but I waited patiently for the system to boot again and install the last SSD firmware. When everything was updated, the boot issue (30 seconds before anything starts to happen) is back and there is no ME firmware version in BIOS. Again. How can this be still happening???
