So far I have received 2 log files, and 0 BSOD dump files.  But I don't have any feedback from ELAN yet.  I am asking for an update.

From your log, ELAN determined that the touchpad has entered what they call "noise mode".  It means they have detected some interference within internal touchpad signals.  In noise mode, they add a filter to reduce this interference, but this adds some latency.  If you can find any pattern when this latency happens, it may help us to investigate further.  For example, does it only happen on AC power?  Does it only happen on a certain desk or within a certain room?  Does it only happen when a certain device is attached to the computer?

I have been unable to find any pattern for what triggers the input latency to occur. It seems to happen randomly, regardless of whether i am on battery or plugged in. As far as peripherals go, I only use a bluetooth external mouse occasionally, and it seems to have no effect at all. Sometimes it will start while I'm typing something for a longer period of time (such as this message), and sometimes it will start while I'm actively using the trackpad. I have tried to try a number of things while the latency is happening, such as plugging in or unplugging the power source, plugging in peripherals, and even disabling and reenabling the trackpad within windows. Nothing seems to have an effect.

I wonder if it would be possible to disable this "interference reduction" mode and observe the results.

Edit: I should also add that it doesn't seem to be affected by the surface its resting on or the room I'm currently in (or the time of day, temperature, etc).

It also happens completely randomly for me. On battery or AC, any power plan, with a variety of peripherals or nothing at all, running CPU heavy tasks or just idling. Sometimes it will stop on its own if I just don't use the touchpad for a bit. The only things that make it work properly again every time are re-running the Setup in the driver folder or rebooting.

Hi guys,

I also found a problem with the touchpad lags at my p52.

I have the latest firmware installed and reinstalled Windows 10 1809.

Looks like I have accidently deleted the minidump I had uploaded a couple of weeks ago. Apologies for that.

I have started using my P52 regularly again. I'll upload another minidump as soon as I get another BSoD.

If possible, please collect a complete memory dump.  It will be more helpful for ELAN.

Here is guideline about how to configure that:  https://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-generate-a-complete-memory-dump-on-windows-10-1590.html

To debug this latency problem further, ELAN wants to try a debug version of firmware, and then collect a log to try to capture the moment the touchpad switches from smooth to latency.  The steps to install the debug firmware are somewhat technical.  You will be able to restore to the production firmware after this experiment is over.  I'm looking for a volunteer that's willing to work with me on this. Please contact me by private message.

One more vote this is nuts.  Minidump points to WFD, full memory dump points to Elan under WFD.  Every few hour occurence.  Crazy that I can't use a laptop as a laptop...

@someotherguy Thanks! Will do. I've been using an external usb mouse the last couple of weeks, so no BSoD yet.

If you need another volunteer regarding the touchpad debug firmware thing, let me know.
