Hi someotherguy, is there an update on the lag problem? It's frustrating enough for our engineers that we are considering replacing these new P52's with a competing product.

Thanks for your support

Another user installed a beta touchpad firmware which provided additional debug information about the lag problem, and ELAN is currently analyzing it.  Do your P52's have a touchscreens?

Hi someotherguy,
Thanks for the reply!
Yes, our P52's have the 4K touchscreens. We are running Windows 10 1803 enterprise on all of these. Any other details you wish to know, we'll be happy to gather.

ELAN (touchpad supplier) thinks the lag is a result of one hand on touchpad and the other hand on (or near) the touchscreen.  Can you please comment on that, based on your experience?

My PC is also a P52 4K touchscreen and, for my lag experience, that isn't a result of one hand on touchscreen. I rarely used my touchscreen and I stand on a desk with an other screen connected to my PC and I only use the integrated touchpad.

I hope that help you

I don't understand.  How do you have touchpad lag problem if you don't have a hand on touchpad?

I can imagine a poor mousing experience if both multiple input devices were receiving input (wither accidental or intentional), however our experience is with the laptop sat on a table/desk, and using the keyboard/mouse as per normal without touching the screen - we experience the intermittent "floaty mouse" that appears like a combination of suddenly higher input latency and severely reduced touch accuracy/precision.

I'm performing a cold boot on this device without touching or going near the touchscreen while powered on to specifically test their theory. (IE: not touching the panel to even adjust the angle the display is at in relation to my face)

P72 - 4K, no touchscreen

I've experienced both lag and floating cursor. My (unscientific) belief is that it is 4K related.

Hello,
I can confirm that after a cold boot where no hands have touched the display (front/back/sides), the touchpad will still randomly become latent (delayed response time), imprecise (difficult to accurately click on GUI elements), producing the very frustrating "floating feeling"

Edit: For reference, I'm running latest touchpad firmware and driver as posted in the lenovo downloads section for my laptop model as of this time. Firmware version "02" dated 26 Feb 2019, and Driver version 24/24/16/5 dated 13 Dec 2018.  Windows 10 1803 Enterprise.

Thanks,
