P52 display adapter drivers

2019-02-25, 20:01 PM

Can there be an official Lenovo feedback on when eventually we can have a fully functional driver package for W10 1809?

What on earth Lenovo? What it will take to deliver to paying customers?

How many months is after you received 1809 to build drivers for?

Latest published drivers fail to  install; see here

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/ThinkPad-P52-NVIDIA-display-driver-installation-issue/td-p/4304116/page/2

or simply do no work; see here

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P52s-BSOD-VIDEO-DXGKRNL-FATAL-ERROR-and-DRIVER-POWER-STATE/td-p/4341935/page/2

Then Nvidia Control Panel does not appear; see here:

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/Missing-NVIDIA-CONTROL-PANEL-after-installing-N2CNQ17W/m-p/4368208#M79119

UHD Netflix is not palying (although both 630 and P2000 should be more than capable), see here:

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/Netflix-4K/m-p/4366159/highlight/false#M79081

And on top, newest Nvidia package which is newer than Lenovo published

Version:R418 U2 (419.17)  WHQL
Release Date:2019.2.22

indicates that only now

New Features  Added support for Microsoft Windows 10 October 2018 Update (Version 1809).

But unfortunately this driver is also not without problems (no NVCP, blank screen after power-up).

Any Lenovo update available?

Ironically, cashing out for Quadro you supposedly guaranteed support and robust drivers :smileylol:

Hello there...

Some input/action is needed.

Latest Intel drivers (from Intel site) refuse to install; it gives an error message that OEM package is needed.

Latest Nvidia drivers also cause problems (and no solutions).

So, everything looks like a total impass.

Lenovo's complete lack of concern or acknowledgement or feedback, is utterly inexcusable.

You must have some interaction problem.  I have a P52 fully loaded and ALL drivers installed fine and work perfectly.

And I have been running 1809 since day 1.

I would suggest running the following batch file as Administrator.

      @Echo Off

      Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
      devmgmt.msc

Then enable Show Hidden Devices.  Check if there are any problem devices.
