P53 BSOD: glpcisd.sys KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

2020-08-31, 19:55 PM

Right after clicking Eject for the SD card I had inserted, I got a BSOD. The code was KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x00000139), Parameter 1       : 00000000`00000009

The WhoCrashed app says the cause is the glpcisd.sys driver, that happens to be Genesys Logic, the driver for the SD card reader.

I have a P53 (Type 20QN, 20QQ) Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20QQ, Windows 10 Pro (the preinstalled one), ver 1909.

The card driver is version 1.1.10.10.

I use Lenovo Vantage to update drivers.

Strange, on the support page the driver version is 1.1.6.5

Is this some known issue? This is a brand new laptop and if it will have crashes, that will not make anyone happy.

I see a Genesys Logic PCIE CardReader Driver version 1.1.10.0 dated 26 Aug 2020 on the support page for the T495, so it is possible that it is an updated version that Vantage is pushing in error, or san update that has not yet been updated on the P53 support page.

Does the BSOD occur every time you eject an SD Card, or was this a one time occurrence?

Regards,

Happened once.

I tried again, and then it did not happen. So those are only two tries.

Oh, the support page now lists version 1.1.10.10 for P53.

Ironicaly , the changelog says:

[Problem fixes]  - (Realtek) Fix SS and PoFx synchronization error which cause 0xA0 BSOD issue.

(not the same error code as mine though)
