P53 - NVIDIA USB Type-C Port Policy Controller

2021-06-21, 6:44 AM

Turning off this non-working device causes the battery to run for about 2 hours:

NVIDIA USB Type-C Port Policy Controller

Device PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AD9&SUBSYS_229717AA&REV_A1\4&2b87665&0&0308 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem186.inf
Class Guid: {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}
Service: UcmCxUcsiNvppc
Lower Filters:
Upper Filters:
Problem: 0xA
Problem Status: 0xC0000001

Installing newer nvidia drivers or just nvppc.inf - did not help.

Hello Rakkam,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

Kindly update the drivers and BIOS thru the support site.
Next step is to load the BIOS default settings, be sure to save before exiting.
Observe and update us how it goes

By the way Rakkar, May I know the reason why you wanted to turn the off the Policy Controller?
We believe that the service is intended to be active and enabled to cater other components of the machine.
Would u have issues that the machine would wake up while sleeping?
