P70 compatibility with Intel Optane Memory

2019-04-01, 14:44 PM

Apparently, Intel has recently expanded compatibility of Optane caching and M.2 regular storage modules to include some older CPUs.

Does anyone know about (or have any experience using) Optane modules in P70 machines, either as Hard Drive cache or as discreet storage units?  Mine is a Xeon Skylake (E-1505) and if there is any benefit to using these new technologies, I'd be interested in exploring.

There are also power requirement, heat dissipation & physical size constraints which might apply.

Any insights or experience would be helpful.

Thanks,
