P71 Fn-F10 killed Bluetooth and now won't turn it back on

2020-09-15, 0:08 AM

Pretty much as it says in the title.

I accidentally pressed Fn-F10 and my Bluetooth connection dropped.

But now when I press it again it just opens action centre and otherwise does nothing..

Hello,

I do not have a ThinkPad P71 myself, but I am wondering if you have searched on "Bluetooth & other devices" in Settings to see if it is still enabled?

Regards,

Re:P71 Fn-F10 killed Bluetooth and now won't turn it back on

Had similar on my P71 this morning, and I noticed that my device manager was refreshing every few seconds like something was being constantly plugged / unplugged.

In device manager I saw it was the bluetooth adapter that kept disappearing and reappearing, and also the Fn-F10 just opened action centre, and the bluetooth button was missing from there.

You might not be seeing this, but it still sounds like a driver problem if it's not showing in action centre.

I resolved it by uninstalling the bluetooth device from device manager. When bluetooth is off you will see just one bluetooth device, maybe called 'Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)'.

Uninstall it, and it will tell you a reboot is needed. When you reboot, it will reinstall the device, and it will be switched on, you will see four items in device manager and the icon will be back in action centre.
