Re: Replace Intel AC-7260 WiFi Adapter in W541?

2019-10-17, 1:13 AM

I did, I tried a lot of different settings. Doesn't matter, the replacement works fine.

Also, I just ordered a P53 and this W541 will serve a different purpose and be hard-wired most likely.

Re: Replace Intel AC-7260 WiFi Adapter in W541?

Hello,

It seems that I have the exact same issue with my W541 for months. After dozens of hours trying everything that is possible to try and coming to this thread, I need to replace my Wireless adapter too. However, I am wondering where I can buy this part? Of course I found some matching products on Amazon and ebay but I would prefer to find an "official" seller for that.

Anyway, GatsbyGen could you tell me where did you buy yours?

By the way thank you all for your contributions that have helped me a lot.

Edit: I'm located in Europe.

Hi Souky,

I got the part from Amazon, from the following retailer, PJCARD

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C2MCJJM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've been using it with the W541 for almost a year now. No issues! :)

Thank you very much for your reply. As anticipated Amazon US is not allowed to deliver in my country so I had to order on amazon UK. Anyway the part will be here in few weeks and I will keep you informed if that replacement solved the problem or not.

I'm spoiled. I live outside of LA. I generally get whatever I order from Amazon the following day in a locker :D

What was the replacement, a like for like our something different.

My W541 keeps disconnecting. I've got it set to 2.4, it's worse when using 5ghz or both.

But even so it's an absolute pain, I'm thinking of buying a USB adapter.

Never mind, just spotted there was another page to the thread.

Ordered the same card from Amazon UK, cheaper than a USB adapter.

Re:Replace Intel AC-7260 WiFi Adapter in W541?

I'm glad to see someone, fairly recently given the initial age of the post, who described the same problem I'm having.  I've had my W541 from the get go, and I don't know what happened, but the most recent driver (which is still kind of old) puts my system into a loop of disconnection, but before it tries to reconnect, when I go pull up my network list, every single one of the listed available networks are gone and suddenly there's a message saying no available networks.  Now I live in a townhouse development and I at any given moment have 20-30 other wireless spots on my list NOT including my two.  The only solution that has worked for me was rolling back the driver....and it rolled it back to 17.15.0.5.  I also haven't had the same problems with the 5gHz band as I've read about, but in advanced settings, I set my preferred network to 5ghz.

not sure if anyone will even see this, but hopefully it'll help someone!

I saw it ;) Let us know if you experience, one day or another, further disconnections after this roll back.

Regarding my message of "2019-11-05, 14:32 PM".

It's been now something like one year and 3 months that I have replaced my Wireless module. The replacement did the trick and I had no more disconnections after replacement.

However, since beginning of february (2021) I experienced some few suspect disconnections. As I recall, these recent disconnections does not behaves exactly as back in 2019 and this can have noting to do with my wifi module. Nevertheless, by precaution, I ordered two more modules in case someday they can't be found anymore ^^.
