Retro-fitting different nationality keyboard

2008-10-30, 15:31 PM

Hi

I plan on getting a W700.

I need it with a Danish keyboard.

Is it possible to buy a different laguage model and buy the Danish keyboard seperately and then retrofit the Danish keyboard myself?

I have trouble finding the W700 in the spec I want in Denmark.

You can indeed purchase a separate keyboard and swap it out yourself. You'll need the FRU part number for the keyboard you want. Here is the W700 keyboard part list. Then consult the W700 Hardware Maintenance Manual for instructions on how to remove the keyboard.

I was looking into a W500 with P9500 and one UK store, cheritoncomputers.co.uk, offered that possibility to me. Another, spanish store didn't. I ended up going for a model available here though.
