Shutting Down instead of going into Sleep Mode - ThinkPad P14s G1 Ryzen 7

A few weeks ago I purchased a refurbished ThinkPad P14s G1 and I'm very satisfied with it! The only problem I have encountered is a non-working sleep mode.

Instead of going into sleep mode, the laptop completely shuts down. This happens both when manually selecting sleep through Windows Start and when closing the lid. I have tinkered with the Windows settings multiple times, updated Windows and drivers, and looked into the BIOS. The problem still persists.

What else could I try to make the sleep mode work properly so that my open programs do not close?

Thank you in advance!

Re:Shutting Down instead of going into Sleep Mode - ThinkPad P14s G1 Ryzen 7

Hello guest36851,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

I understand that your ThinkPad P14s G1 shuts down instead of going into sleep mode.
Kindly try the following:
-reload the BIOS default settings, be sure to save
-install all applicable updates from the support site
-check Power Settings: Ensure that the power settings are correctly configured. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings. Look for the "Sleep" section and make sure the settings are correct.
-check if Hybrid Sleep is available, you may check this under advanced power settings menu mentioned above.
-check for Conflicting Software: Sometimes third-party software can interfere with sleep mode. Try performing a clean boot to see if the issue persists.
Hope this helps.
Let me know what happens.

Best regards,
