Think Pad P15 G1 Original AC adapter is not recognized

2021-08-20, 6:48 AM

Hi,

we bought the Laptop P15 G1 a few month ago. The laptop is connectet to the ThinkPad Thunderbolt3 Workstation Dock Gen 2. The docking station is powered with the original 230 W ac adapter. The Laptop started a few weeks ago to not recognize the original ac adapter. Since the last week it will also not recognize the original 170 W ac adapter directly connectet to the laptop. What can we do? The error message is attached with the picture file.

The connected AC adapter has a lower wattage then the recommended AC adapter which was shipped with the system. To use AC power, please connect the AC adapter which was shipped with the system.

Kind regards

Ron

Hello Ron M.,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

You can try to power drain initially turning it off in full shutdown.
Then try reloading the BIOS default settings, be sure to save and exit.
Next step is to update the BIOS, drivers and firmware thru the support site.
Restart the machine once more and try the original 170W charger.
Observe and update us how it goes

Regards,
