Think Pad P72 won't start up

2020-05-04, 14:36 PM

Hello

I could use some help.  I start up the TP P72 and the Lenovo red screen pops up.  However, the light that indicates the hard drive stops blinking after a few seconds this screen pops up.  How do I get Windows started up again?

Any help would be appreciated.

I should also point out that I was, at first, getting text in the upper left had corner related to PCI Lan v1.4 or some such.  After trying some diagnostics those don't show up now.  The hard drive indicator light starts up then goes off though...and the red Lenovo continues until the above screen pops up (in photo).

Hello,

Are you able to boot up if you select the Windows Boot Manager or the NVMe0 drive to boot from?

Regards,

Those symptoms usually mean that the SSD is either physically sick or corrupted.  Try running the built-in diagnostics (f10 at startup).

Thanks...I had forgot I posted this. The SSD did not pass the F10 test this week. It could not read the drive. However, in May I was able to get it working...but it finally died last week. Since I forgot about this thread I posted another one (sorry) that goes into detail in not being able to find the original drive when I opened up the back. I'm at a loss where it's located (after viewing a video) jom
