That's the driver I have already tried.  g5de38ww is the driver that keeps the laptop from blue screening, but the projected image is now in black and white or fails to connect all together.  I'm still waiting for a driver update.

Hello Outouser,

Thanks for your link for Quadro K1000M. My W530 also has BS issue w/ K2000M. I'd like to try your suggestion. Does the driver you posted apply to K2000M?

My K2000M/W530 has BS w/ longer projector cable on whatever discrete or nVidia optimus from the BIOS setting.

Thanks,

-Nemo529

This driver will work for you. Its from nvidia site not Lenovo.

Thanks outouser!  That nvidia driver worked!  Maybe Lenovo should be loading that one on their new laptops instead of their own.

Re: ThinkPad W530 with Windows 7 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector

Hi,

I have the same kind of problems as stated by the OP.

Sometimes, when connecting a VGA Cable to my computer i'm getting the BSOD. I write sometimes because the problem only occurs on some VGA Connections (specific monitors or beamers), while there is no problem at other devices...

My problem is also that I have a Lenovo W520 (not the W530), and the Graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro 1000M (not the Quadro K1000M, as the link refers to).

System is 64 bit Win 7 Pro, with intel core i7-2630QM @2.00 GHz

Haven't tried the "solution driver", cause i'm afraid it will mess up my system? Do you have a similar solution for the W520, or should I dare trying your link above driver?

Another problem is that the troublesome VGA Connections is not in my office, but has occured at customer meetings (imagine that...!!). Therefore limited possibilities to check if it actually works, when the new driver has been installed...

Regards from Magnus

Hi Sweavenger

This is correct driver for you if you are using Windows 7 64bit
