Re: ThinkPad W530 with Windows 7 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector

Hi Outouser

Downloaded and installed the driver.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this will mean no more BSOD for me...  ;)

Thanks a lot for your answer!

Re: ThinkPad W530 with Windows 7 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector

I had previously had the same problem described here - a BSOD whenever I attempt to connect my laptop (a W530 series purchased last year, running Windows 7 Home 64-bit SP1 and with an Nvidia Quadro K2000m graphics card) to an external monitor or projector.  Occasionally a second attempt post-crash would work, but it was a huge pain in work presentations and the like.  I've been trying to fix the problem since, and - as suggested in this thread - downloaded and installed from Nvidia's website version 332.21 of the appropriate ODE driver.  It's still not working - now, the Nvidia manager recognizes the second screen, but the second screen doesn't receive any signal from the laptop.  What is the issue here?  And what can I do to solve it?  (I had previously been using up-to-date Lenovo-issued drivers.)

PS - I'm using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable - not VGA.

Hi HuShifang

When you install Nivida driver select custom install and select "clean installation"

This should fix your problem.

Hey outouser -

I tried a clean install of the just-released version of the driver, v332.50, but unfortunately nothing has changed - the NVIDIA Control Panel still recognizes that the monitor is connected, but the monitor doesn't receive any signal from the computer...
