So, was that the response you did get from Lenovo?

Well. I'm not surprise this is how Lenovo customer support works, generic messages is like you are talking with robots.

For this reason is why I am moving to Dell or HP for my next workstation which seems to have much better response and assitance from technical issues or enquiries.

The second answer was, the specifications of the p70, as you said CPU max addressing 64GB, I had a Dell Precision M60 and those of dell didn't treat me well  (display graphics card problems), HP I had a tablet and without problems. with lenovo-ibm a X61t, a W520 and this P70, quite reliable, only problems with the power cables, with ALL install memory without the ibm support, and at my own risk, as now, waiting for an official understanding of what the problem is, the BIOS of Lenovo or the microcode Intel Xeon CPU.

I just wanted to share this link https://www.speicher.de/arbeitsspeicher-lenovo/thinkpad/p51/thinkpad-p51-20hh.html from a company that is based on Germany who claims the the P50, P70, P51 and P71 can take 128GB RAM, the catch is you have to buy the RAM from them.

They claim the RAM they sell is totally compatible with these models and also that these thinkpads can take 128GB RAM, you can read more on the subject on the link provided.

No, I bought it from another German company,  eBay user superfonse2000 Mihatsch Trading GmbH & Co KG, the memory is the Samsung M471A4G43MB1-CTD  and I think is the same as speicher.de DDR4-2666

Well, this company I just quoted the link previously they said they use for the RAM they sell the Samsung chips, but the question is, and I say this because I was in contact with them a few months ago about this and they assure me that the RAM they sell is 100% compatible with the previous gen ThinkPad P series, but it is a bit strange how they managed to get these ThinkPad models to recognise and use the 128GB RAM.

Any moderator from Lenovo that can assist? I know my requests calling for someone from Lenovo to assist are in vain, but who knows they may eventually respond.

The moderators don't speak for Lenovo.  We are all customers like you.  I have responded 2 or 3 times to this thread and everything I know has been stated above.  32GB DIMMs became available and were originally intended to work with 9th gen CPUs and above.  Lenovo worked with Intel to develop a way that 8th gen CPUs (like the ones in the P52) would work.  That required changes by Lenovo and Intel, but this development either did not get done or could not be done on earlier models, like P70, P71, P50 and P51.  I know nothing about anyone claiming to have it working on 6th and 7th gen CPUs.  I am sceptical . It seems the 32GB DIMMs are recognized in the BIOS put are not passed on.  They may consider that as "working".

"Lenovo worked with Lenovo" I do not understand.

The response of Lenovo Support is simple: the max mem is 64GB. They must think that a person who buys a professional workstation is a  gamer, I am an engineer, I bought the workstation for scientific computing and I do not deserve to be treated as a dummy.

Sorry.  Lenovo worked with Lenovo was a typo.  I fixed it to say the same thing that was stated above

Re:ThinkPad Xeon P70 128GB RAM

There's a couple of users in reddit who claim to have installed and have 128GB RAM working properly, as of today. Maybe there have been newer updates that allowed this.

This on a P50 i7-6820HQ processor model.

Has anyone tried on the Xeon E3-1505m v5 model?
