I did the same thing and it didn't work. I had to roll back the driver for the Intel p530 graphics to 21.20.16.4550 and now it works fine.

Why doesn't it work for my P50? I have rolled back to the previous version of the NVidia driver, and I can roll back for no more. Is this issue coupled with other drivers?

Here are the drivers I have updated using Lenovo Companion last time:

Synaptics,

Video Features (NVidia N16S/Quadro N16P)

Integrated Camera Driver v3.5.7.5901

Realtek MultiCard Driver V10.0.15063.21299

Intel Wireless LAN Driver V19.71.1

Pantone Color Calibrator V1.3.1.6742

I rolled back my Intel HD Graphics card, now its working. When Lenovo issues a fix, like a new driver that doesn't crash, I wanna be pinged.

Sorry for this trouble.  We confirmed that the bug is in Intel video driver .4749 and newer.  Driver .4727 and older is OK.

The problem I was able to reproduce:  after resume from sleep, display stays black and PC not usable.

How to recover:  press and hold power button until PC turns off.  Then turn on PC again.

How to avoid the problem:  In Device Manager, select Display adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Driver tab, then click "Roll Back Driver" button.

Ok, I can confirm that rolling back on the intel driver worked for me. Previously, I rolled back the dGPU driver which didn't resolve the problem.

@someotherguy, Please keep us posted here if newer drivers resolve this issue from the root! Thanks!

Thank you for the post. I was having the same problem and the driver rollback solution worked for me.

I noticed that while the built-in display malfunctioned on wake from sleep, the external display worked through HDMI connection. Also, the problem only occurred when system was configured to use hybrid graphics and did not occur when configured for discrete graphics.

I have the exact same problem as it is posted here. Just like the poster described it for his/her own problem, this started occuring after the Nvidia Quatro software update. The screen looks like this. Lenovo should mark this as bug introduced by the latest driver update, and fix it asap.

P.S: P50 laptop, Win10 OS.

The only 100% working solution with the newest drivers for now:
Cortana Search Bar -> Power & Sleep Settings -> Sleep -> NEVER -> NEVER -> Wait for updated drivers

If you really need to fix it asap:
Cortana Search Bar -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Properties -> Driver -> Roll Back Driver -> Write "Intel's newer driver sucks" -> Wait a couple of minutes -> Reboot -> Start -> Power -> Sleep -> Check if it works properly

What is curious is that even though Lenovo staff have been able to reproduce the issue, the faulty driver is still available. Should have been taken down, shouldn't it?
