Trouble connecting wifi onThinkPad T540p / W540 with Realtek Bluetooth or Ethernet

2015-06-22, 16:45 PM

Hi there,

I receieved a new ThinkPad W540 with Windows 7. I'm endeavoring to set up the internet connection but am having difficulty connecting either via wireless or via ethernet. It appears as though there is no wireless connection on the machine, but it doesn't seem to be reading the ethernet connection either. When I go to try and connect, it tells me the adapter isn't enabled. I'm, frankly, stumped.

Any help that you can give would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi AQuigg,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

You can verify if the adapters are disabled under network adapter in “Device Manager”.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar

Is the WiFi light on or off? Switch?

Oops.  Edited this reply.  Sorry, I must have been dreaming of a workstation.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > Network Adapters

And check that the [Dual Band Wireless-AC xxxx] is alive.  Mine is AC 7260
