Unauthorized network card - intermittent error

2020-07-29, 8:39 AM

I get (from time to time) an error that says I have an unauthorized network card on my new P53S (with a WWAN Sim card). If I reboot often enough the error goes away. It's irritating.

The full yet is "1802: unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the network card (8087/07F5)". As far as I can tell, that's my WWAN card. Which I purchased from Lenovo. When I boot up and get the system running, the SIM card works.

I see threads which talk about the SIM card not working after boot, which I haven't encountered. It's the constant rebooting I find annoying.

Thanks for all the assistance (not), and total lack of replies... What a great forum.

In the end the solution was to remove the DDR4 memory that I had added.

Which is a little frustrating, as I wanted the extra memory...
