Vista Business x64 CDs

2009-03-16, 18:53 PM

Is there anyway to get the Vista Business x64 drivers that Lenovo uses on the machines they sell people (w500s) other than downloading them from their website?

I have having serious issues with most of the x64 drivers they have posted there that I am starting to wonder if the machines they are selling with the Business x64 have newer drivers than the ones that are available on their website. After talking to Lenovo support it seems they too think it's possible the system building department is using newer drivers, but on the flip side Lenovo won't upsell me a set of recovery CDs for Vista Business x64 even though the Vista 32bit key on my W500 works perfectly in my personal OEM version of Vista Business x64; so I don't see why it's such an issue to not make it available for customers who want to upgrade!

Download and install ThinkVantage System Update. It should automatically download and install the drivers and software required for your W500.

I did download the lastest version of this already which updates itself once and then tells me there aren't any packages for my machine. Another fine broken product that Lenovo has made! :(
