If tthey dealy it too long you'll be getting a W710. Could be worth waiting if:

USB 3

eSata

smaller charger

i7 CPU

W510 not as bright. Cuts off important real estate. no RAID.

Wouldn't it be nice if Apple just built PCs for Win7.

I am very surprise that Lenovo is not giving any info on the withdraw w700 issue on their website. Do they not care about their devoted customer? Is w700 not that popular?

Re: W Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2010)

I am having a problem with my order of the W700 ,   I ordered  on December 28, 2009, And the estimate shipped date February 2, 2010 turns out credit card I used wasn't accepted so I got to order with a next credit card And the ordered was changed to January 6th, 2010, And estimate ship date moved to February 11th, 2010 (I ordered a solid state drive, it displayed may take 4 weeks to ship), but the estimate ship date going take 5 WEEKS! , still don't understand why my order have to take sooooooo long and it did say MAY take 4 weeks.

Don't live in the US, And toll free number charge me, been calling a customer service rep but no answer And it runs up my phone bill sky high!.  Can anybody from lenovo assist me , I want to know the real status of my order. When I check my status Is says (in process)  that's from day 1 of ordering.

Just want to know the position on my laptop... Is it been build? Waiting to getting the solid state drive? There been a slight delay . Just want to know what's going on . Can't get through to customer rep... And send emails no reply.

Basically I pay my money .... And its just a Waiting game..  which if that was a unknown brand  I ordered from I would be thinking if I am been scammed.

Its lenovo so that's out of the equation.

Re: W Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2010)

Well I guess I am one of the lucky few to have ordered the Lenovo W700. My order started on 12/16/2009. The estimated ship date was 12/24. Then on 12/26 it was moved to 1/1, on 1/3 it was moved to 1/11, on 1/12 it was moved to 1/27, on 1/28 it was moved to 2/5.

I have called but the answers are always the same. It could ship at any minute.

I would feel a lot better if the response was, you know it's probably not going to ship until middle of February. Can you live with that? Then I can make a qualified answer and go my way. Instead I am waiting and for what?

The lost time I have in this is endeavor is my time. I work full time, have kids, single parent, part time school, house, roommates, I don't have time for this Lenovo! A little honesty on your part goes a long way. As it stands I wonder, what happens if I have to ship this thing in because of a repair, will I ever see it again? It's definitely making it hard for me to really want to purchase anything from you. Maybe I should get out now and go where there is something tangible.

I wonder about the money I have sent in to pay for this. I have sent money to Bill me Later but I don't have a product. When It finally does ship will the warranty begin on the day I purchased or the day it arrives? Also I paid around 1900 for this laptop. The same model is now going for 1700. When I finally receive the product where does the money go? Do I get it back?

As for those who feel superior by posting about custom built, high quality, quit your belly aching blah blah blah. I feel certain that if you were in a similar situation, you would be the first to complain the most. You're all the same, smug, think you're better than anyone else and have no problem rubbing it in when someone feels slighted. To you I say, ignorance is bliss.

What really bugs me is when I called I told the salesperson that I needed the PC before my term in school started. I feel like if he had been honest with me then I would at least have something. If this system isn't going to ship, then it would be good of Lenovo to let people who are relying on having a product know it isn't going to ship.

I am 4 weeks into my term and have been very lucky that I haven't had to set up a VPC. When that time comes, if I don't have what I odered, I am not going to be able to do my work. At that point what good is an order and a false promise?

In closing, I really hope that this wait is worth it. I was extremely disappointed by the Y730. If this turns out to be a lemon I am going to feel ripped off. I have been told that the w series is completely different than the Y730. That thing is a pos. :smileyhappy:

Customer service (Shipping part of it)  is poor though lenovo management need to correct that.  Depending on the laptop to generate income. 4 year old PC broke so orders  W700.

Well they responded.   they are extremely low on inventory (display panal) and it take a few weeks to restock. They told me they will assist in picking another machine (w500) , refund or anyway they can..

Any suggestions? not really into the w500 as much ... want my 17inch.. what my two hard drives (dont want to take out optical disk) . Losing income... fustrated.. which way to go?

Can anyone explain Lenovo's shipping procedures and what exactly their 2 day UPS shipping means in the context of something shipped from Shanghai? I received shipment notification yesterday for my W510, and looking at the tracking information this morning I see that UPS estimates a 2/10 delivery date.

Unfortunately the issue seems to be customs.  I have a laptop that after taking a month to actually get shipped is now sitting at the UPS hub in Louisville getting a new rescheduled delivery date on a daily basis while they wait for customs approval.  I have been pretty patient, and I'm just happy to know it's finally on the way, but man I'm itching to get the thing in my hands already....

Here's hoping that UPS gets us both our laptops SOON.
