W400?

2008-10-04, 2:51 AM

Any release date for a Thinkpad W400 ?

I want to replace my T61p 14.1inch-screen but I don't see any model that can replace it !

Benlehot,

The 14.1" screen is only offered on the T400 and the R400....sorry I'm not familiar with the specs on the new SL series or the Idea line.

If you want a W model (which replaced the "p" designation), the only options are the 15.4" W500 or the 17" W700.

As far as I'm aware, there are no current plans for a 14.1" W model.

Regards

Yes, I like to see a W400, too. One with a 14.1 WUXGA (1920x1200) lcd backlit apple-thin display. with the chassis dimensions of a T400. that would be my machine.

intel will bring out new low TDP processors with 25W TDP (P9500, P9600), nvidia has nice low tdp quadro fx graphics cards with an MXM interface (www.mxm-sig.org , as in the W700), the new ssd drives dont produce heat and are available at 1.8" or 2.5" 7mm height. there are new 7mmheight dvdrom drives (as in X300).

there should be some space savings possible with capable engineering: >>>>>>>> W400.
