W500 External Monitor - blue screen - crash dump

2009-03-17, 20:34 PM

If I use the W500 with an external monitor, I have intermittent display driver failures culminating in a crash with atikmdag.sys identified as the problem.

I have the latest ATI drivers for V5700 - 8.52.4.081002a-070479C-Lenovo

Based on Lenovo support's input, the BIOS display option is set to discrete graphics and a NON-Switchable configuration. The BIOS version is 1.2.

I cannot function efficiently without dual monitors. I have read the other posts that have been 'solved' without being able to spot a solution in the thread.
