W500 'S' drive

2008-09-22, 16:57 PM

My W500 has a partition called S that contains some recovery software.

Our network at work maps drive S as a network resource. Well since there is an S drive already on the laptop the mapping fails.

I'd like to simply make the Lenovo S drive something else but it appears you can't. Is there a way?

Todd

Right click "My Computer" and select "Manage". Click "Disk Management", then right click the "S" partition, click "Change drive letters and paths", click "change" and select a different drive letter. Save your changes.

Edit: That may not work on the S:\ drive

Disk Management will not allow you to change the drive letter. That was the first place I went :smileyhappy:

I was afraid of that.

Hopefully someone from Lenovo will provide some information soon.
