W500 freezes during hibernation and standy

2008-11-17, 17:05 PM

I have a W500 with XP Pro. Not long ago it started to freeze during hibernation and standy.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I did a number of updates and I suspect it was the Bluetooth driver that didn't let it happen.

It seems to be ok now.

Thank you all for the replies!

Hello and welcome here!

Please check your eventviewer. Control panel-administration-eventviewer/manager

Are there some exclamation mark at that time the system crashes.

Also what antivirus, spybot and firewall is installed. Is it docked, or have you plugged in any usb devices?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Event log shows red exclamation marks multiple times for Service Control Manager and once for DCOM. Yellow for Tcpip.

Model is 4058-CTO  (ThinkPad W500)

Hello,

try to update your lan and wlan driver. Check  driver versions on Lenovo support pages, with versions installed on your system.

See link on top of this page.

Also check or deactivate third party software like ZoneAlarm or Norton Suites.
