W500 missing deivers after loading Windows 7 - can't be found using Windows Update

2012-07-29, 18:04 PM

Loaded Windows 7 Ultimate to a W500 4058CTO.  Device Manager initially showed 4 devices without drivers.
Listed under Other Devices; 3 were Base System Device(s) and one is a PCI Simple Communications Controller.

Allowed Windows Update to search for drivers.  One of the Base System Device(s) was found.  It is a PCMCIA ada[ter - Ricoh R/RL/5C476 (II) or  compatible CardBus Controller.

One remaining Base System Device(s) is listed as:  PCI bus 21, device 0, function 4

The other is listed as : PCI bus 21, device 0, function 3

The PCI Simple Communications Controller is listed as:  PCI bus 0, device 3, function 0

What are these devices and where can I get the drivers to support them?

Hi hgkaroley,

Have you downloaded the TVT System Update from the support site?

You can also download individual drivers here: Drivers and software - ThinkPad T500, W500

Let me know if that works out for you!

I believe one of them might be the Intel AMT driver, but if you post the hardware ID found in device manager, doubleclick on the device, select the details tab and select Hardware Ids it's easier to say for sure.
