Machine is never able to wake up from sleep!
I have updated all of the Thinkpad drivers to the latest version, no luck. Very frustrating, have someone found a solution get?

Isn't resume windows from when you hibernate? Maybe if we could separate these issues?

Unfortunately it didn't work.

I got it working 3-4 times when closing the lid to go into sleep. But the last time I left it for an hour and I got the blinking light locking when trying to wake from sleep. :smileysad:

Sorry - the Microsoft  hotfix did not fix the problem.

Reading the Microsoft description - it says that for this case,  the user sees a black/blank screen and a mouse pointer ... suggesting that the operating system has already taken control.

I think in most of our cases, the operating system has not started to boot... the multiple blinking lights stops the boot and there is no mouse cursor visible.

Thanks.

All,

Engineering has reverted that they have tested this issue for over 10 times however they are unable to replicate this in the lab.

Their test configurations as follows.

- Preload Win 7 64bit

- TVSU update all

- Windows update all

- no other application installed

- Lenovo recommended RAM

- XP preload

- RAID & non-RAID

---

Therefore do try to reimage your laptop to the default Lenovo preloaded OS with no other applications installed and use the Lenovo RAM if issue still persist. They have recommended to get the machine serviced for possible systemboard / CPU / memory issue.

Lenovo W510 Type 4319-2PU

Windows 7 64bit

8GB ram

Up to date with Windows Update

Up to date with Lenovo System Update

Awake from sleep results in blinking lights. The only known release is to force power off.

I have followed every suggestion in this string.

Akeswick,

Are you running Lenovo memory?   If not, what happens if you only run with the memory that came with the system?

If you are running ALL lenovo memory and are still experiencing these symptoms, would you be willing to let us take a look at the system?   Please send me a PM and I can work with you on the logistics.

As it stands, since our senior tech team has not been able to replicate, the consensus is that 3rd party memory is the likely culprit.   I'd like to either confirm this, or help move this forward by obtaining an example system that exhibits these symptoms.

Best regards,

Mark
