I had heard there's a way to disable the onboard Bluetooth from the bios, have you tried that?

Oh I though Bluetooth was part of the Ultimate N 6300 card I removed. If this is not the case disabling the old one in the bios makes sense I'll try it.
EDIT: oh I guess it helps if I actually read all of page 1

You can disable Bluetooth completely from BIOS > Security > I/O Port Lockout.

@ ColonelONeill

When you said:

I tried that, but it disabled ALL bluetooth even the new card.  Here's mydevice manager after doing that.

Have you tried just disabling the builtin Wifi from the device manager? It might not be ideal, but Windows should then ignore it until you re-enable it. (It knows that there's a device there, but changes the label)

Huh. Didn't expect that.

Looks like your surefire method would be to pull the Bluetooth module.

Looks like the last few posts got deleted.  (whoops)    I'll leave out the white list instructions then I guess.

The last quesiton I had was where is the bluetooth daughter card?  I'll try removing it.  I assumed bluetooth was part of the old wifi card I removed. (guess not)

Everything works fine if I ignore the device manager "!" so not too big of a deal but might as avoid potential hardware conflicts / BSoD

Hi,

I would like to "re-open" this Q since I just noticed a Lenovo driver update package, through Lenovo System Update, for my W520's WiFi, where the description mentions my W520 and the Intel 7260AC card... does this mean that I may replace the current WiFi card with this Intel 7260AC card without "hacking" the whitelist bios? Or, does Lenovo have a special 7260AC-card for my W520?

Anyone knows anything about this?

R./J.

Hello and welcome,

None of the above.

It probably means that the wifi driver that covers a range of laptops and wifi cards handles your laptop (along with others) and that AC card (along with others) but not both at the same time.

There's no implication about the whitelist.
