W540 - Windows 10 - Colors Inverted

2016-03-12, 2:38 AM

Recently when I boot up my computer the colors will be inverted. Red is cyan. Green is magenta. Blue is yellow. White is still white though. Pivoting the screen or flexing the case a bit seems to fix it. Is this a loose cable or something else?

System is a W540 running Windows 10.

It doesn't seem to be a software issue since moving placing any pressure on the screen can randomly solve or cause the problem.

External monitors are not affected.

I cannot give a certain diagnosis without seeing it.  I am assuming if you boot into the BIOS, so there is no operating system or drivers involved, it is the same.  It sounds to me like some of the contact tape on the back of the screen has delaminated.  Do you still have warranty?  If so, call support (1-800-426-7378).  If not, you still need a new panel.
