I'm interested in a power adapter with removable jack. Essentially a power brick where all of the cables can be replaced.

The original poster got it about right 16:10 IPS screen.  Classic keyboard. The rest will work out. My T61p 1200x1920 is getting long in the tooth, but there is nothing current generation to replace it with.

Oooo a teaser page is up!    Will it have a touch screen or not?   I'm hoping BlueStacks is updated soon because I want to occationally toy with Emmulated Android tablet apps once in awhile.    (main reason for touch screen)

I mainly want a beefy CPU/Graphics laptop though.   I mainly use it at home 90% of the time docked via 29" AOC ultra wide monitor.

Phew. Topside hinges on the W540. Minor reprieve.

Widescreens are stout enough already. They don't need to go any lower.

Hopefully touchscreens will all be OPTIONAL or removable.

Re: W540 Wish List

So will we not have the middle mouse button any more to click and scroll?

Using the w520 alone, I enjoy the middle mouse button that we can click, hold, and then scroll up/down.

When I'm docked I missed the Track Point so I bought one of these.

(special soft dome quiet version though)

So I have my track point back, but it doesn't include the middle button.

Does anyone know of a utility that will let me scroll up and down Chrome web pages easier?

(like hold the right mouse button or something)

I know I use use the space bar, and shift + space bar but that's not good enough.

I found quick scrolling but it's old, 2010, afraid to try it on Windows 8 with so many chrome updates since then.

P.S. I didnt buy the Lenovo track point keyboard because you CAN'T swap the Function and Control keys like you can in the Laptop bios.

The middle button's there, but integrated to the touchpad like the left and right buttons.

There are apparently physical buttons under the touchpad, so if you're feeling adventurous, you could pry off the touchpad and glue on some conventional buttons.

Neutered trackpad with no real buttons?  Still this useless chiclet keyboard?  Awkward keyboard placement with number pad and off-centre trackpad?  More shiny plastics?  NOBODY'S ASKING FOR THESE NON-FEATURES.

Only one step left to officially make the ThinkPad  worthless garbage like the rest of them: rear-mounted, non-metal hinges ... coming soon on the W550!

This is why I'm stocking up on used ThinkPads from eBay.

Posted from the excellent and venerable T60 with what is proably the best laptop keyboard ever made.  RIP ThinkPad.

The middle button's there, but integrated to the touchpad like the left and right buttons.

So, what then?  We just have to futz around blindly until we find it?  That'll be just great for productivity.  Who' s making these continually idiotic design decisions? Does no one at Lenovo have even the slightest concept of tactility?
