Well the W5X0 is a 15.6" series so I think you're out of luck for the 17" form factor.

Do we also have to specify that all USB slots are 3.0?

Sigh! Still nursing my W700 and pining for its successor!

All USB 3.0 except if necessary, eSATA/USB which might not be available in 3.0. At least 4 - 5 ports, 6 would be wonderful.

Why not also add an internal wireless USB interface...

Re: W540 Wish List

I own w520 (before that w500, which got stole.) and my major annoyance (beside normal keyboard layout changes) is lack of 15.6 models (not even p series) without numpad...lasttime I used a numpad key (on any keyboard) is probably 5 years ago...+ sitting and watching left side of my screen kinda sucks...Other annoying change is integrated buttons / trackpad.

I am already happy with w520 screen resolution so all this 4K thing is not so important for me...right now I am thinking to pimp a W530 version and live with it's shortcommings and wait till lenovo guys awake...or not... :(

Did they scrap that? My T61 has one, and I guess my W520 has one too, although not too sure, since I have an SSD as primary "drive".

eSata/USB3.0 combo does exist on other brands

:

For you it might be, others use the numpad regularly. On the W520 you had at least the possibility to enable numlock and use a portion of the normal keyboard as a twisted numpad.... that's gone with the W530.

LOL, funny video, and pretty accurate, too. Form over function, that is Steve Jobs' legacy. Too bad Lenovo is drinking the Apple kool-aid.

Thanks for sharing....  I think the result of the Win8 and new workstations will be apparent in 10 years, in our productivity results.  Gives the ROW time to catch up.  Could it be a plot?

Again, once again I went to the MS store for mousing tutorials, and the trackpad is great for surfing and goofing off, and even the staff had issues doing real work in MS Office, and simple tasks in Lightroom.  Most (3 MS 'genius' mentioned they use the  new MS blue tooth mouse for real work).
