W540 touchpad - modify to only use bottom as buttons

2015-06-29, 14:36 PM

I just bought the W540 and I find the touchpad very frustrating to use. Is there any way to modify the behaviour of it so that the bottom portion of the touchpad (about 1cm) only functions as left and right buttons? I've updated the mouse driver the latest which is version 18.0.7.103

  1. Right-click the start orb
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Find the Mouse settings.
  4. Then in the 'ThinkPad' tab, switch to 'Use Only Trackpoint' mode.
  5. Then in the TrackPoint section, change 'Button size' to 'Full'

I don't want to stop using the touchpad. I want to continue using it but have the bottom 1cm or so only function as buttons. I've never really liked using the Trackpoint.
