W700 Fingerprint Delays - Problems

2010-06-15, 5:38 AM

Hello There,

I have the following system facing Fingerprint delays (some times Hangs on log-on screen.

* Note Book: W700 -2757-CTO

* Turbo Memory Installed 2GB

* RAM Installed 4GB.

* Dual HDDs installed (Raid -0) Stripe

* Windows 7 (64bit) Ultimate

Symptoms:

Biometric device :  AuthenTec Inc, AES2810

Fingerprint Soft:     Lenovo Fingerprint Software for Windows 7 (64-bit) VER. 3.3.2.27

I have tried Re-installing the software / updating software / clean installing the software including other drivers i thought it might help, but issue remains same.

1. Fingerprint delay on login screen (some times)

2. Fingerprint says " Please wait" and that waiting period never comes to an end, until i click on switch user and type in the log-on pass word manual with out finger swipe.

3. Some time after several re-boots it works just fine.

NB:- Just to check i have removed the Fingerprint Software (uninstalled) from CP and now windows log-on is smooth and no more log-in delays. (But with out Fingerprint Software):smileysad:

Any proper authentic solution will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Wahaib

I had similar problems until I uninstalled the Lenovo Fingerprint Software and installed the "AuthenTec Inc. driver update for AuthenTec Inc. AES2810" via Windows Update.

Can you please explain more, Step by Step, because I have done it already, it works fine for while but after any new programs installation on the notebook, it goes back to the delay problems.

If you can please explain (Walk-through) step by step guide.

  1. Uninstall Lenovo Fingerprint Software
  2. Start Windows Update and search for updates
  3. Select "AuthenTec Inc. driver update for AuthenTec Inc. AES2810" and have Windows Update install it for you
  4. Restart your machine

Delete the old fingerprint driver and with Lenovo updater download the Lenovo  Windows 7 64 bit fingerprint driver.
