W700 HSF assembly and power supply

2008-08-17, 3:33 AM
well, hardware maintenance manual may resolve this, but since it isn't available (yet), i'm asking if heatsink and fan for model with quad core cpu (44 W) is different then one for model with eg. T9500 (35 W) or P9500 (25 W) dual core cpu?? also want to ask if models with differently rated cpu have different power supply??

lavedir,

From what I have seen, there is only one HSF and AC adapter (170W) for all W700 models.

Regards

One quick clarification, just so nobody plays "gotcha"...

There are a total of (2) system fans....

  (1) CPU fan...same part number independent of CPU

  (1) GPU fan...same part number independent of GPU

Worry not...the system runs very quiet and does an excellent job dispersing heat.
