(solved) Latest Lenovo firmware patch breaks Thunderbolt on P1

2020-05-19, 8:11 AM

This Monday, the Lenovo System Update tool alerted that there was a patch for Thunderbolt on the Lenovo P1.

After that install, the Thunderbolt firmware is no longer working, in that it does not find attached devices any longer.

The Patch does not provide any information about how to downgrade to an earlier version, hence the warning.

The patch is: n2eth10w.exe - version 17.0.0.12-N2ETF15W

Update:

  • After 2 additional reboots (all-in-all 4 of them), no other BIOS or software changes, the Thunderbolt controler and attached devices are recognized.  Will change the Subject to not say "warning".

I'm having the same problem (no Thunderbolt dock detected after update). However, no amount of reboots have resolved the issue.
