What's the best way to clone a W530 SATA drive into my new P50 SSD?

Has anyone successfully cloned their W530 SATA drive to a P50 SSD?  What's the best way to do this please?

Are you trying to use your W530 OS on the P50 or use the P50's supplied ssd drive in your W530? is the drive the OEM SSD or a bought one?
I own a Y510p SLI (retired), Yoga 2 Pro, X220T, P50 4K (sold), X1C5

W530 is a regular 5400 rpm Spinner which has all my data (OS + files.)  Want to clone this one into my new M2.SSD P50 so that way I have all my data from the W530 into the new P50 M2.SSD drive.  Is this possible to clone?  How?

StockSearcher,

if you want to clone entire drive, i.e.all data, installed application and OS, new system might be very unstable because of W530 and P50 platforms differ significantly, need different system drivers.

What is the OS version on W530? Do you plan to keep it on P50?

I think your use of the term "clone" is causing confusion.  This word is used to convey literally transferring 100% of the contents of one drive to a new drive, say if if you are upgrading and converting from HDD spinner to SSD, or maybe replacing a crashed old HDD drive, or maybe just getting a larger HDD drive, etc.  In other words "clone" means  you want to duplicate your current boot drive (and all its operating system and data partitions and their folder/file contents) to a different drive which will then replace the original and become the new boot drive.

From your problem description, you are simply wanting to copy all of your "data" (i.e. folders/files, contents of \Users including documents, pictures, music, etc.) from the existing HDD spinner internal drive of your existing old W530 into free space available on the SSD drive of your new P50.  You're going to be using the new Windows on the P50, and you just want to copy/migrate all your existing old "data" from the W530 to the P50's available SSD free space, in the most convenient way possible.

If you have an external USB drive which you're using for regular backups, you can simply use it as an intermediate "copy" storage location.  Step 1 is to copy the data folders/files from your W530 to the external USB drive.  Then you connect the external USB drive to the P50 and step 2 is to re-copy this time from the USB drive to wherever you want to put it on the P50.

If you have an external drive storage kit like this USB 3.0 SATA/IDE SSD/HDD adapter device from Kingwin, you can simply remove the internal drive from your W530, plug it into the Kingwin drive adapter with the SATA connection, plug the Kingwin drive adapter into the P50 with its USB 3.0 cable connection, and now you have made the HDD spinner from the W530 instantly and completely available to your P50 as a second "external" drive.  You can now use Windows Explorer directly, copying FROM the external drive (from your W530) TO the target SSD in the P50.  No need to do this as a 2-step out-and-back.  You can do it in 1-step, directly from HDD to SSD.

You can use Windows Explorer as one way to accomplish this simple folder/file copy.  Or, any equivalent file copy utility (e.g. Free Commander XE) or backup/restore/copy software (e.g. NovaBackup), or anything.  Depending on if you have something like the Kingwin adapter available or a simple external USB 3.0 drive for intermediate storage (it will run much faster than using a USB 2.0 drive), you simply want to perform a "data" folder/file copy from one drive to another.

Using the word "clone" for this objective is inappropriate.
