thanks very much for the following.

If ECC is indeed working, it will be proven eventually. This is just a matter of time.

 

Could Lenovo be kind enough to also clarify the RAID option?

What is extra on those machines with Configured-on-order RAID? Is this just a BIOS on/off code, or there is hardware involved. If this is only a BIOS issue, why Lenovo decided to disallow the RAID option being turned on by the user? Is there any post-purchase upgrade available to for current owners to get RAID?

Oh, but they do advertise ECC as a working option on their configurator.

ECC is working. The problem isn't with the memory it's with whatever software you're using to try and detect it. It's the same way with the Dell's. It's something Intel will have to address so that these tools will be able to see what's going on.

All,

 

the development team has confirmed that MemTest86 v7.0 Beta 1, which is available from the PassMark website, has been used by them to successfully detect the ECC feature.
