ati2dvag bluescreen at W500 again and again and again

2010-02-01, 17:26 PM

Hi Folks,

since I got  my new W500 I had many troubles with the bluescreen with the ati2dvag.

At first a BIOS-update helps, so I had no bluescreen ..... until using a CAD program. Then helps the tip from John to unchecking  "Use 2D GPU acceleration" in Adobe Reader or Acrobat. From this moment I had no bluescreen .... until today.

I worked in the CAD program and got a bluescreen, and from now everytime I work in the program or save a file I get a bluescreen with the ati2dvag massage.

I have Windows XP, the latest driver for the ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 (in the CCC is shown ATI firepro in the red bottom), the latest BIOS-version.

What can I do????

Nice Greetings

Olaf

Have you tried any of the ISV drivers listed here?:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=TPAD-ISV

If your CAD application is listed, try the driver listed for your system and OS.

Regards

I do not know if this suits your plans. I upgraded to Win7 and never had an ati2dvag again. Obviously the drivers from ATi are better tested to work on Win 7 or Vista, rather than the aged XP.

But as said, installing a new OS and a week is gone and shure you will get new problems.

Good luck.
