keyboard and warranty help

2008-09-16, 1:40 AM

I have some doubts I need help with:

1. Is there any problem instaling a t61p keyboard (part number 42T3126) in the w500? it is a portuguese keyboard that I can buy now and I need to have a portuguese w500 keyboard but to my knowledge there is none yet... I would also prefer to install a t61p one, because I am reading lots of info about the flex the new version of the keyboard has (some say because there is less plastic, others say the plate is thinner and full of holes).

2. I would like to know if the warranty I buy from the US site is or will be valid in Portugal. I have seen the warranty conditions on the T400 and was amazed to find out that a laptop bought in the US has no warranty in any European country, and would like to know if that is the case with the w500. I couldn't find warranty conditions about the w500.

3. Is it legal to buy a laptop from Lenovo using one of the many CPP codes that can be found online (wich give substancialy lower prices).

Thank you for your help

Hello,

1. Yes, it will be possible. Some user have already installed a T/R 60/61 keyboard.

2. No, warranty is mostly limited to some region. Please make a warranty look up on lenovo supports&downloads page.

See link on top of this page.

3. I don´t know exactly what you mean.
