p50 screen gasket peeling

2021-05-31, 19:12 PM

Hi!

Well, today I was a bit careless and snagged the rubber gasket that borders the inside edge of the lid on my p50.  it peeled back about 1/2 cm or 1/4 inch.i can see hte corner of the screen behind it.  Obviously, I want to fix it before it gets worse.
Any advice?

I'm thinking super glue, but would that hurt the screen?
I have the 15.6" (396mm) FHD (1920x1080), anti-glare, LED backlight, IPS, 250 nit screen.

Hello microfishd1,

Greetings

I suggest that you use an adhesive that is good for metal-to-rubber type.

Some recommends silicone based adhesive, some suggests Gorilla glue or Krazy glue.
Hope this helps

Hello,

Could you perhaps use some two-sided adhesive tape that has been cut to size to act as a glue layer between the frame and gasket?

I like the tape idea because glues have solvents that can damage the screen.  Also , tape would be easier to remove  if you decide to replace the bezel.
