power meter gadget gone!

2008-11-04, 3:52 AM
I accidentally closed the green battery gadget and it is gone. I opened the add gadget dialog and couldn't see it. Does anyone know where I can find it back?

Thanks. Been there done that. It adds a small icon in the task bar. I was talking about the larger green battery in the gadget side bar. I intalled some other gadgets and found that they are not registered in the "installed gadgets". if I close any of those I downloaded from Microsoft site, they are gone and I have nowhere to get them back.

Any ideas?

Re: power meter gadget gone!

I would love to do that but I am not sure how. I didn't get any CD with the computer to let me install the software. When I go to control panel to add/remove software, select the Power Manager, click Uninstall/Change at the top, I got only one dialog that says

"Are you sure you want to completely remove PowerManager from this computer?"

Now what? There is no other options and the Add/Remove Software panel has no menu that lets me select a location of source (not to mention I have no idea where to find the source of Power Manger).

It seems a dead end to me. Any help is appreciated.

It's even worse. I downloaded the software, uninstalled the current version, run the wizard and installed the new version, restart the machine. The Power Manager is now completely gone - not installed at all. I don't see it in the Start menu, not in the list of installed programs, no power meter icon.

Wow, isn't this great?

Try this.

Install latest power management driver from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4gxpeg

Boot pc after install

then install power management again.

Hi guys, I appreciate all you trying to help me out here. after uninstalling current driver and utility, followed by reinstalling the new downloads as provided in your email, nothing happened. The install seemed successful but nothing shows up in the start menu nor in the Control Panel's software installation listing. I am worried if something is getting wrong. This machine is only weeks old!

I noticed in the task bar area there is an icon that says new updates available. I clicked it, it takes me to Microsoft Windows update page. On that page it says the new update is Lenovo's PM driver. It seems to be what I needed but then trying to install it failed over and over again.

I am just baffled.

Does anyone know how to fix this? even regedt?
