removeable battery P50 P70?

2016-08-05, 2:52 AM

Hi all!

1) Am I correct in understanding that the batteries on the P50 and P70 are removeable (and one doesn't have to use a screwdriver or remove a port to get to them). Are they similar to batteries of old where you slid a lever or two a pulled them out (like the T40's, only in a different spot)?

2) Do either of them have that horrible thing known as an internal (attached) battery?  Internal batteries prevent one from sucessfully removing the battery to force a power-down.

Thank you!

It's the same as p70 just flips up and out and no other internal battery.

Can't speak to the P50 question but the P70 battery is easily removable by flipping a latch.  Early reports of non-removable batteries were incorrect and probably precipitated by Lenovo showing early, non-production prototypes at trade shows.

No screws or Molex connectors, etc. are required.

Thank you, practical!  That is a huge relief regarding the P70.  IMO, that is the way all laptops ought to be by default (unless you choose otherwise in customization).

Now, if someone could speak regarding the P50's battery?
