Hello Haasjeover,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

Are you trying to load the OS iso file from usb?
Give this a try: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/install-windows-from-a-usb-flash-drive

Hope this helps

Welcome to the forum.

I tried to start my Thinkpad P73 from an USB drive.

What's on the USB drive and in what format? If Windows then see the previous post.

Have you disabled Windows Fast Boot?

If you're trying to boot some other OS like Linux then e.g. Create a UEFI-Bootable Linux Mint USB Drive.

What format: NTFS, FAT32, something else?  Is there literally an ISO on it, or the contents of the ISO.  Are the ISO contents UEFI bootable?

It might help to know precisely what you are trying to boot: Windows, Linux, something else?

Please clarify and provide exact details.  You should be able to boot a FAT32 formatted drive with the contents of a 64-bit UEFI-bootable ISO on it.

The USB drive is FAT formatted and the contents of the ISO are on it. I don't know if the ISO contents are UEFI bootable, but I put it on with the program 'ISO to USB.'

I'am trying to boot my Lenovo thinkpad P73 with Windows 10 on it.

I'm sorry, but I'm still not clear on this.  "with Windows 10 on it"  By "it" do you mean Windows 10 is on the USB drive or on the P73.

Please just state what is on the USB.  How about a screen shot of the contents if it isn't Windows.

If it isn't UEFI bootable it won't boot unless you select legacy mode in BIOS.  I don't know if that is an option for the P73.

I have set the BIOS to start first via USB-CD, then via USB-FDD and finally via the HDD. I disabled secure boot in the BIOS and set diagnostics instead of quick. I made the CD and the USB drive through the PCUnlocker recommended program ISO2Disc. I also read somewhere that the program "autorun.inf" should be on the CD. But I believe that is for a DOS startup?

Herewith a better screenshot of the contents of teh CD and UDB drive

Hello,

I do not have a ThinkPad P73 myself, but I'm wondering if other computers besides it are able to boot from the USB flash drive with Windows 10 on it.
