I have a w530 with a 512GB Samsung 830 SSD
with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it.
12.7mm SATA III Drive Bay adapter from Lenovo
500GB 7200rpm HDD that came with the laptop in the drive bay.
I get the 2102 Detection Error on HDD1 (Ultrabay HDD) on startup before I even have the option to get into BIOS, and the drive cannot be found in BIOS either.
All drivers up to date. No signs of physical damage on any of the ports.
This is really frustrating; I have a lot of data on my second drive.
Any solutions? I've read pretty much all other posts about this error message and haven't found a solution anywhere.

I’m sorry to hear that you are getting a 2102 HDD detection error in your Lenovo ThinkPad W530.
Try reseating your ultrabay hard drive and see if it helps.
This error code suggests that the ultrabay hard drive has failed or is about to fail. I strongly recommend you to contact our technical support for assistance.
