Hi, I hope some one can help me.
I have a P50 In thise I have the OS on a M2 disk. I have on other M2 disk both are working good.
When I tryed to mount a 2.5" ssd Kongston 256 gb I got the message "2100: Detection error on HDD0 (Main HDD)"
If I connect the disk to a ekstern reader I finde it but not when connected internaly in PC.

This usually means the drive is not installed correctly. Power down, very carefully remove the drive and disconnect the cabling, and then very carefully reassemble. The drive should now be detected as normal.

If the drive is installed properly it should show in the bios. Can you confirm if it is listed?

Sorry very late reply from me. I talked with lenove and they may think that it was the acctuale hd that was the problem. but Now I knowe it is not.
In the Bios only Oginal M2 disk and a the optinoal m2 disk shows.
I have to day changched the optinal m2 disk to a new samsung 960 and try the m2 disk (intel) I have used for some time in a Sata adapter. Still the same Fault 2103 when power up.
Is it not possible to have 2 m2 disk and one 2,5" ssd?

Have you tried running Lenovo Solution Center or Lenovo Diagnostics Tool Lite on your main HDD?
There is also a diagnostics using F10 when booting the system, you can run hardware tests from.

My ThinkPad P50 is configured with two M.2 NVMe and one 2.5" SATA SSDs, so I know this is a working configuration for me on my ThinkPad P50. The SATA cabling for the ThinkPad P50 is very thin/fine, at least compared to the previous W-series, and requires exact placement in order for the drive to be correctly recognized.
If you are certain the cabling is good, you might want to try using the 2.5" SATA SSD with a USB to SATA adapter in order to verify the ThinkPad P50 can read it.

I have today got a Samsung 840 pro ssd because Lenovo support told me to try a qualety disk.
I still get the same fault.
but I tryed to take out the M2 disk in slot 1 and connect the samsung ssd and the P50 red it right away.
I have windows on M2 Slot 0 Disk.
when I sun solution center I do not get any fault.
But now I knowe that the disk is working and that the cabel is good.
Can it be that windows need to be on the 2,5" disk or any HW fault with the 2,5"bay?

it may be faulty cable you get with kit needed to connect 2.5" SSD. with 2.5" kit you get two cables ("left" and "right" turned) - try another one to check if it helps.
