BIOS 1.18 issues on ThinkPad P1, disabled hotkeys and heavy battery drain

2019-01-28, 21:52 PM

I have regret updating my ThinkPad P1 to BIOS 1.18, now the FN hot keys don't all work. Especially FN + F4,  F7-F12.

Since I have unplugged, the power seems to be draining very fast. I have used the dGPU disable-enable trick in Device Manager to no avail.

Did anyone else on P1/X1E experienced this same issue?

Yes, I have disengaged Fn-Lock (which is default setting). I hold FN and the F1-F12 keys to access.

Yes, I have double-checked in the BIOS setup that the Fn-Lock was switched off. Fn + F4, F7-F12 all give me nothing.

I cannot downgrade the BIOS to 1.17 any more, I am highly disappointed after I saw the readme after updating. Why, Lenovo did you lock the option to downgrade? No wonder I kept getting the message "BIOS image file does not match this system. The utility process has not completed.", even when the Secure Rollback Prevention function in the BIOS is disabled.
