Re: BSOD P52 Problems

2019-03-26, 20:42 PM

Get in touch with the vendor?  Lenovo is the vendor.  Lenovo put the POS video card in the laptop.

The thing is, if you analyze 10 BSOD memory dumps on the P52, you will get 10 different causes.  So... the whole laptop is technically defective by design.

I also had my P52 (with P1000 GPU) crashing occasionally, but always with the NVLDDMKM.SYS BSOD. Due to company policy I'm still on the W10 1803 build, so I could not use the newer drivers from lenovo site, but what seem to have fixed the problem are the latest drivers directly from nvidia, specifically this version: 431.70-quadro-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql

It should be noted that I tried several previous versions and it crashed in the same way, and since the start beginning of August when I installed this no crashes so far, so I'm not touching this driver and keeping my fingers crossed.

Seems like I cannot edit a post here..?

So scratch what I said previously, my P52 still crashes with the the same nvidia related BSOD, seems to be only when connected to external displays - I'm using most of them time, with both hdmi and DP external screens connected directly to the laptop.

So I had the crash with the newest drivers from the nvidia website and the latest version from lenovo site, which did install although it said its only for later W10 builds.

In average, it seems to be 1 crash per 2 days for me, so it seems I might have to RMA it, no matter how I like to use the P52

So just a followup, in the end it appears it was a HW issue - I had the MB replaced under warranty about a month ago and now there are no BSODs.
