Ready to configure and buy a P51 for my son. Can someone tell me what docking stations are compatible with it?
I know he will want to connect two 4k monitors to the docking station if possible.

connect two 4k monitors to the docking station if possible.
To my knowledge, none of Lenovo-made docks are capable of supporting 2x4K monitors running at 60Hz. Not the "Workstation Dock", not even the new Thunderbolt 3 dock (if documentation at https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/acc100356 is to be believed)
So I'd suggest a 3rd party Thunderbolt 3 dock, like https://www.macrumors.com/2017/01/05/caldigit-thunderbolt-3-docks-2016-macbook-pro/ etc (need to verify that it will actually drive 2x4Kx60Hz monitors)

Thank you for the replies....
Does thunderbolt3 (P51 implementation of) allow for Daisy chaining of monitors? I wonder if I can chain one monitor to the other one and still get 4K at 60hz.

This answer assumes that we are talking about graphics support from within the P51 and ignores the possibility of any external GPU, though most of the information would presumably apply to external GPUs (with which I have no experience).
Total bandwidth supported, depends on the graphics card and the standards that it supports.
Multi Stream Transport (MST - "daisy-chaining") requires support by both the card and the attached monitors.
According to this link the P51 currently supports up to NVIDIA M2200...
According to this link the M1200 and the M2200 both support Displayport 1.2 (which is not the latest version)...
According to this link, Displayport 1.2 will not support 2 k monitors @ 60Hz...
More information about Displayport and its' relationship to other technologies such as USB-C and Thunderbolt. NOTE though that this mostly talks about Displayport 1.4 (not 1.2)...
More about Thunderbolt 3 ...
I believe that I read that the thunderbolt port uses displayport for graphics transport. So I believe that (someone correct me if I am wrong) whether you use the thunderbolt port or the mDP on the P51, you are limited to graphics bandwidth provided by (in the case of the cards currently available for the P51) Displayport 1.2.
In my case my W530 has a K100M card that supports Displayport 1.2 (or maybe 1.2a, I don't remember).
I use the mini displayport connector to daisy-chain 2 external monitors...
1 is 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
1 is 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz

Most monitors don't have native Thunderbolt 3 ports, and Display Port 1.2 isn't good for daisy-chaining 4K@60Hz.
Provided you get the new Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Dock(which has DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3 on it), and another Thunderbort 3 -> DisplayPort adapter, it would be the best "dock" possible in the circumstances (best = minimal number of wires to plug into the laptop to hook it up ).

Thanks to all.
I`m intersted in the same topic. I`have a question too..
Why on the P51 User Guide on pages 36, it is mentioned "how to use the ThinkPad Basic Dock, ThinkPad Pro Dock, and ThinkPad Ultra Dock.."?
Thank you in advance.

I am looking to get a mechanical dock that can work with a T440p and a P51 as well.
I do not have very highend uses like running multiple 4K monitors or using some sophisitcated 3D software.
I want a dock basically for its ergenomics, don't want to invest much, can some of you please help with your suggestions.
