My new Thinkstation D30 has two display ports and one DVI port, and I have 2 ASUS monitors (one is a 3D) with HDMI ports, plus DVI. Right now I am using the DVI ports on the monitors, one monitor is connected to the DVI port on the Thinkstation, and the other is connected to a Display port via a DVI-Display Port dongle. Both monitors also have HDMI ports.
My question is this:
Would there be any difference in performance if I were to use Display Port to HDMI dongles to connect the monitors, compared to the DVI connections? I am not concerned with audio.

To echo EOS post, If you are not worried about audio it really shouldn't matter which combination you use; The display differences are not noticeable for the average person.
I found this article from PC World, I thought you may find it helpful, especially page 3.
