I have a ThinkPad P51. I am trying to set up Thunderbolt networking between my P51 and my 2017 Macbook Pro. When I connect the cable from my P51's TB3 USB-C Port to the TB3 USB-C Port on the Macbook Pro, I get this pop-up:
Also, my Thunderbolt networking options are grayed out:
The Networking Driver Version is "Unknown":
And finally, I'm unsure if this is normal or not, but when I pull up the Device Properties for Thunderbolt(TM) Controller - 15D9 it looks like this:
Is my Thunderbolt port faulty? I did a complete uninstall of the Thunderbolt software and drivers, followed by a re-install using Lenovo System Update, reboot - same results.

There is no Thunderbolt Network Adapter on my system...the PDF says:
Once the standard Thunderbolt Software operations to authorize the access of the other computer have been completed, a new network (Ethernet) adapter will appear in the Windows Network Connections
There is no access authorization dialog or indication that a "standard Thunderbolt Software operation to authorize the access of the other computer" has occurred or is required when a cable is connected between the two machines.
